Brand New sE Electronics Voodoo Passive Ribbon Mic with Project Reflexion Filter and Pop Shield. I personally swear by these mics. We use a number of sE mics at the studio and these new Voodoos are by far the most unique sounding Ribbons I've ever heard. Using so called 'voodoo technology' designed by sE Electronics' CEO Siwei Zou, sE have managed to create a Ribbon mic that performs across 20HZ - 18KHZ. These microphones simply don't sound like any other Ribbon I've heard. With this mic you have the warmth and fullness associated with Ribbon Microphones and the Clarity and 'Air' of a Condenser. Drums - Classic ribbons like Royers and Coles are fantastic for drum overheads but the VR1 microphone gives you an added dimension and fullness to the kit along with definition and detail to cymbals that even dialing in extra top end can't achieve even with 'industry standard' ribbons.
